When you think of JKD the first instructor that comes to mind would have to be Dan Inosanto. Contribution to the art : Guro Inosanto is given credit to keeping the concepts art alive after the tragic death of Lee in 1974 with books, seminars, and lessons. 1st generation instructor. Dan Inosanto teaches The Art and Philosophy of Jeet Kune Do, Filipino martial arts, Shoot wrestling, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai, Silat, mixed martial arts and other arts at his Marina del Rey, California school, the Inosanto Academy of Martial Arts.

He received a shodan from and was an instructor for Ed Parker in American Kenpo Karate before becoming a student of Bruce Lee.
After Bruce Lee’s death, he has become the principal spokesperson and historian for Jeet Kune Do.

Dan Inosanto was Bruce Lee's right hand man and the master charged with spreading Jeet Kune Do around the world.

Dan himself is of mixed Filipino-American descent and has done much to popularize South East Asian martial arts such as Kali, Muay Thai and Silat.

He blends techniques and concepts together seamlessly and is equally successful in teaching others to do the same. Stressing the need to be a versatile fighter at all ranges, Dan was a Mixed Martial Artist before the term had even been coined. Dan Inosanto (born Daniel Arca Inosanto, July 24, 1936) is a Filipino martial arts (FMA) instructor from California who is best-known as a student of the late Bruce Lee and the world's foremost authority on Jeet Kune Do.
